The story
The cheollik began as a court robe and has spent the modern era trying to find its way back into the everyday. The bones of the form are patient. The pleats from the yoke, the long line, the sleeve cut for motion. The challenge is to drop the formality without breaking the architecture.
Garamseulgi is the answer. The body runs looser through the bust and the hip. The shoulder is softer than the formal Hanarin. A mid-weight cotton blend keeps the piece breathable from morning to evening. The pleats hold. The wrap closes clean. Two lengths, same intent.
