The story
Daily is the Korean reading of the word it borrows. The everyday hanbok is a recent recovery. For most of the last century the hanbok moved into ceremonial use and out of the kitchen and the porch. The lifestyle chima is the return move, the chima that goes back into the rooms where the chima always belonged.
This piece is built for that return. A wide soft waistband sits at the natural waist without a corset. The hem lands at mid-calf, the length a mother could wear without thinking. A mid-weight cotton blend drapes soft and washes clean. The Seoul workshop runs a hidden side zip so the front stays unbroken.
Worn on a Tuesday for the errand run. The chima goes over leggings in the morning, under a long coat at the post office, off again at the kitchen table at lunch. By Wednesday the piece is in the laundry. By Thursday it is back on the body. That rhythm is the read the hanbok earned for centuries before it left the room.
