A winter dinner. A holiday gathering where the room is warm and the chair is soft. The cheollik that softens the edges of the room it walks into.
Cheollik began as a robe for the Joseon court, engineered for a body on horseback. The pleats fall from a fitted yoke so the silhouette holds its line in motion. The architecture survives because the same problem persists, a long shape that has to move without losing its quiet. Velour answers the winter version of the question.
Mid-weight velour with cotton-blend backing so the fabric holds without crushing. Contrast color panels are sewn into the shoulder and sleeve to break the surface tone. A hidden side zip keeps the front clean. The texture catches directional light without crossing into sheen. The cheollik geometry holds through the contrast paneling.
Worn to the winter dinner where the room is warm and the lighting is low. The cheollik moves across the floor and the velour reads soft. A holiday gathering where the photograph happens against a warm wall. The piece that softens the edges of the room it walks into.
