The story

Norigae is the ornament tied at the goreum, an old form with long lineage in cord and knot. As the twentieth century progressed, metal entered the central element, first cast, then chased, then set with stones. The fine metal flower is the most recent register of the form, where the same lineage carries a modern surface.

Cast metal shaped into a flower at the central element, with crystal accents set into each petal so the surface twinkles under directional light. The silk cord holds the flower at the goreum. The tassel is hand-tied and falls clean. The metalwork is finer than the brooch register and reads as a hanging ornament rather than a chest pin.

Worn to the evening event where the dinner table is lit from sconces and candles. The metal flower catches the low light and the crystal twinkles when the wearer turns to the next guest. A piece for the night that asks for ornament and does not want a large announcement.
