Marble-pattern enamel over metal. Steel pin-back.
A Sunday service where the coat stays on. A spring portrait under directional light. The pin for the coat lapel that the friend across the pew notices and asks about on the way out.
Wing motifs have lived in Korean ornament since the Three Kingdoms period, when bird imagery entered ceremonial metalwork. The form held through the dynasties and into the modern wardrobe, where the wing reads as flight, as lift, as the small lift that ornament gives a wearer at the start of a day.
Marble-pattern enamel laid over a metal body, with two wings spreading from a central stone. The enamel is fired so the marble pattern holds its register through the life of the piece. The steel pin at the back fastens without bending the cloth. The brooch is sized to land at the lapel or the collar without crowding the line beneath.
