A split-front chima with an asymmetric overlay that opens at the side, sized to reveal a second tone beneath. The name reads as flower bookmark, a small object pressed between pages. Mid-weight cotton holds the line clean.

Two layers. One line.
Mid-weight cotton blend with a printed floral overlay. Hidden side zip.
A garden gathering in April. The family portrait that wants color without a dominant note. The skirt that introduces a second register at the hip and lets the rest of the outfit hold quiet.
The chima has always been a single field of color. The split-front variant is newer, a 20th-century answer to the question of how to carry two registers in one garment without losing the line. The Korean wardrobe has a long memory for layering, and this is the contemporary form of an old instinct.
The Kkochgalpi keeps the overlay soft. The outer panel breaks at the side seam, the inner panel holds the contrast. The cotton blend takes the pleat cleanly and the asymmetric cut reads intentional from any angle. A hidden side zip keeps the waistband flat. The two tones meet only when you walk.
Worn to the spring portrait in a courtyard. The skirt does the work of two pieces, the contrast revealing itself only as the wearer turns. A mother who wants color without a statement reaches for this. The second tone is the small surprise the photographer notices later, in editing.
