White flower at the cuff.
Lightweight cotton blend with embroidered cuff detail. Hand-finished placket.
Spring portraits across a long afternoon. The layering piece for the day that crosses from sunlight into a covered courtyard and back. Worn open over a slip or closed for the meal.
Embroidered cuff work has a long tradition in formal hanbok, the cuff being the part of the jeogori that shows when the sleeve crosses the chest, lifts a teacup, holds a baby. The embroidery at the cuff was the small statement that read first across a meal table. The Baekhwa version honors that placement without leaning ornate.
The embroidery is held to the cuff, the rest of the jeogori stays plain. The white flower is rendered in tonal ivory thread, a single shade off the base cloth, so the work reads as relief rather than contrast. The lightweight cotton blend keeps the layering practical. The placket is hand-finished. The piece reads as a layering jacket and as a jeogori.
Worn through the spring afternoon, sleeves out at the table, sleeves up when the wind comes through the courtyard. The grandmother across the meal sees the cuff work as the wearer lifts her teacup. The embroidery does its job in that one moment, and the rest of the day holds quiet.
