Ramie. In black.
Ramie-blend in solid black. Wrap closure with hidden tie.
Evening events that ask for a darker palette. The skirt for the dinner that reads sharper than the rest of the line. Pairs against a contrasting blouse for a clean two-piece read.
Black hanbok has a complicated history in Korean dress. Saturated dark colors were historically reserved for specific roles and rites, and the everyday wardrobe ran lighter. Contemporary hanbok has loosened those rules and made room for black as an everyday formal note, particularly in summer cloth.
The black Mulmosi takes the ramie-blend into the sharpest register of the series. The cloth still breathes, the texture still catches light, but the read is darker and the silhouette reads more architecturally. The wrap closure stays the same, the hidden tie holds the waistband flat, the mid-calf hem clears a sandal.
Worn to the August dinner held at a restaurant where the host has dimmed the lights to a candle level. The skirt reads as a long dark line across the table. The cloth catches the candle. The friend across the table reads it as hanbok, the friend at the other end reads it as a long skirt. The ambiguity is the design.
