The story
Cherry-red sits in the saturated end of the Korean color palette, alongside the deep blues and the rich greens that the court tradition reserved for ceremony and the folk tradition adopted for holiday. The color reads as warmth, as celebration, as the marker that a day matters.
The Beoji holds the cherry-red across a long jeogori cut. The cotton blend takes the dye saturated and exact, the red reading the same across morning portrait and evening dinner. The bust is lined for structure, the goreum closes traditional. The piece is the color and the long line, nothing else.
Worn to the Lunar New Year visit at the grandparents' house. The wearer enters the front room and the red registers before her face does.
