A girl's hanbok dress with a softer color palette than the Bomul, sized for the same age range. The chima drops fuller for the photograph line. The name reads as wish. Lightweight cotton blend, goreum tie, lined bodice.

A small wish.
Lightweight cotton blend. Goreum tie at the front. Lined through the bodice.
Dol photographs where the parents want a softer palette than the saturated red. Lunar New Year visits to the grandparents. Family portraits at the cherry blossoms in April, the daughter held still at the bench.
Somang, wish, is the Korean word a parent uses when speaking softly of a child's future. The word carries hope without bargaining for it. A hanbok for a daughter built around somang has to read warm and quiet at the same time, the way a parent's wish reads in their voice.
The Somang holds a softer palette than the Bomul: pastels, ivory, a touch of blush. The chima drops with more fabric at the hem for a fuller photograph line. The cotton blend is light against the skin and lined through the bodice for structure. The goreum ties at the front. No fasteners pinch.
Worn by the daughter at the Lunar New Year visit. The mother lays the dress out the night before. The daughter holds still while the goreum is tied. The grandmother at the door sees the soft palette first and the daughter second, and reads both as the wish the family has been holding through the year. The photograph is taken before the bows begin.
